The new 2011 Honda Odyssey is nothing like your parent's minivan. In fact, this re-engineered, re-designed vehicle is more along the lines of something James Bond would drive...and not just in Austin Texas! From overall design differences to technology upgrades, the 2011 Honda Odyssey delivers a superlative luxury experience! Yet, it's based on Honda's core principles of high gas mileage for a competitive price.
New Honda Odyssey Body
From the outside, the body of the 2011 Honda Odyssey has an entirely new look setting it apart from the other minivans on the road. It has more of a sports utility look versus mom's old "grocery getter;" providing a sportier appearance. Also, its sleek new frame is wider, which affords more interior room. The vehicle can comfortably accommodate up to 8 passengers, with a second row bench that can hold 3 child safety seats.
For those concerned that the new Honda Odyssey has been turned into a rocket ship with aggressive mechanics, don't worry. While slightly wider and sleeker, the new Honda Odyssey will continue to have a 3.5 liter, V-6 engine, front wheel drive. Mechanical upgrades include Honda's Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology. This will save you gas by automatically switching down to 3 or 4 cylinders in slower traffic. Additionally, the new Odyssey's 6 speed transmission replaces the 5 speed transmission of the earlier model.
In terms of fuel economy, the 2011 Honda Odyssey will rate even higher than the 2010 model —19/28 (city/highway). Get all your friends in for a road trip around the Texas countryside and say "Howdy Honda"!
