Vauxhall and England pair up for football fantasy
Recently leaked onto the Internet were claims that car manufacturer Vauxhall who have car dealers in Stafford and throughout the UK, is due to become England's' next football sponsor replacing Nationwide.
The popular building - society were England sponsors for 11 years, and stopped their £20 million backing of the much loved sport last July due to speculation over both massive fall-outs in profits for the society and the FA holding out for a better offer.
Nationwide customer complaints rose about the lack of member benefit and set the tone for discussions on whether the society should continue spending, and the Football Association is also said to have turned down the offer from Vauxhall for a more lucrative sum as the governing body were confident that England would make a significant impact at the World Cup in 2010.
The FA are due to make a formal statement this week confirming the sponsorship from Vauxhall as potential conflicts could arise with car manufacturer Fiat, who are the official car supplier for England.
If the FA and Vauxhall reach an agreement the financial backing is said to apply to every level of the game, not just the England National team. All levels will be covered including the women's team, youth teams, and even lower to the grass roots of entry-level England players.
Previously Nationwide's' sponsorship covered all levels, as well as branding, including media interview backdrop boards, ticket and broadcast sponsorship as well as all training kit and details are set to be discussed and contracts signed this month.
Potential sponsors, rumours, and talks have all been continued since July 2010, with big names such as mobile phone company Blackberry, social media success Facebook, and big name mobile brands O2 and Orange.

The Welfare of Dogs by Stafford, Kevin [Paperback] $127.37 This book is one of a series of textbooks on the Welfare of Animals. The dog is the most widely distributed of all the domesticated animals and is used for a wider range of activities than any other species. Dogs live in close proximity to humans as pets but also as freeranging street and village dogs. The majority of dogs live short lives as street or village dogs and their lifestyle and welfare is often poor. Many dogs work with humans and are also used for sport and entertainment. This book discusses the management of all types of dogs and how this affects their welfare. In wealthy societies the health and nutrition of valuable working and sport dogs is generally good. However, their function may predispose them to injury as for example racing greyhounds. Pet dogs are often deeply loved, well fed and healthy but many exhibit behaviours which are considered to be caused by anxiety. In addition many may spend a large proportion of their lives alone. This is inappropriate for a social animal. The welfare of laboratory dogs which is of concern to many people is discussed as is the welfare of animals held in shelters waiting for rehoming or euthanasia. This book is of interest to everyone interested in dogs and their welfare. These include dog owners, veterinarians, animal shelter staff, students and academics. Baron Stafford $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The title Baron Stafford has been created several times in the Peerage of England. The first creation was by writ in 1299 for Edmond de Stafford. His successor, the second baron, was made an earl, and the sixth earl was made Duke of Buckingham. The second Duke of Buckingham was executed for treason and his titles were declared forfeit. His son was restored as third Duke, but he, too, was executed for treason, forfeiting his titles. A second creation, again by writ, was for Richard Stafford, who was created Baron Stafford of Clifton. At the death of the fourth baron, that title fell into abeyance. The next creation was for Sir Hugh Stafford, son of Hugh Stafford, 2nd Earl of Stafford in 1411; he had married Elizabeth Bouchier, who succeeded to the Barony of Bouchier. Hugh was summoned to parliament in lieu of his wife, as Baron Stafford. At his death, this title became extinct since he left no heirs. The fourth creation was in 1547 for Henry Stafford; at the death of the sixth baron, the barony became extinct again. The final creation of the title came in 1640 in favour of William Howard.
