Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Have Been Around For More Than Three Decades

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers have been around for more than three decades but that doesn't mean they've said all they have to say (or sing). After releasing a four-disc compilation called The Live Anthology in November last year featuring the greatest hits of the band so far as well as a few The Grateful Dead, Fleetwood Mad and James Brown covers, this spring Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers are to release their 11th studio album after an eight-year break, Mojo. The exact date has not been announced yet but fans are eagerly anticipating the new tracks many of which will be available for free download with the online purchase of tickets for their 2010 tour. All fans who buy tickets online will be able to download for free the two tracks of Tom Petty's new album, "First Flash Of Freedom" and "Good Enough," and after the official release of the album, they will be able to download all tracks for free. The Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 2010 North America tour will kick off on May 6 in Raleigh, NC, and will end August 27 in Saratoga Springs, NY. Meanwhile the band will visit 36 cities throughout the US and Canada including Tampa, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, Vancouver, Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Atlanta, Nashville, Boston, Toronto, and many others. Joe Cocker, Drive-By Truckers, My Morning Jacket and Crosby, Stills and Nash will be special guests on the tour. The band that was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002 and received numerous Grammy nominations throughout their long career are also to be headliners for this year's Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI in the end of June. It appears it will be a very busy summer for Mike Campbell, Tom Petty, Scott Thurston, Ron Blair, Benmont Tench, and Steve Ferrone, and a fun one for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers fans.
